This is a view I had of the city of Liverpool from my plane, as I travelled back to Norway in October following my mum's 60th birthday. It's a city in flux, in a period of strongth and constant change. As the time approaches when Liverpool, calls itself The European city of Culture 2008 (a title it will share with Stavanger in Norway), life becomes evermore hectic with building projects coming under increasing pressure to complete on time. It's an exciting place to be, and the hope is that Liverpool will soon be again seeing some of the prosperity it was used to more than two centuries ago.

Thats an absolute stonker. You did do well. The shot gives a very strange impression of the city. Stretching from the Dingle in the foreground, the site of the now long forgotten Garden Festival wich gave the city so little of lasting memory to Seaforth, top right with the symbol of the future, the ubiquitous wind turbines. On the opposite bank of the Mersey estuary is a symbol of Liverpoool's maritime past, Fort Perch Rock lighthouse.
